Among the passengers is Holly Hennessey, a Florida resident and self-proclaimed “cruise addict,” who, along with her cat Captain, has been unable to leave Belfast while awaiting the ship’s readiness. Despite the inconvenience, Hennessey has embraced the situation, spending her days aboard the Odyssey and exploring the city in the evenings.

“We can spend all day aboard the ship, and they provide shuttle buses to get on and off,” Hennessey noted. “We can have all of our meals and enjoy entertainment, almost like cruising except we’re at the dock.”

“We are travellers, and we want to make the most of the place we are in,” Angela Theriac said. “We keep teasing we will apply for residency here in Belfast.”

Her husband Stephen added, “We have eaten in every restaurant and had a Guinness in every pub. It is just all part of our adventure.”

Dr. David Austin from Georgia, a recent retiree, has chosen to remain patient despite the delays. “The payoff of seeing the world in this fashion is too great to feel too disappointed with each delay announcement,” he said.

CEO Mike Petterson remains optimistic, expecting the ship to set sail by the end of the coming week. “We’re not focused on the next days or weeks, we are focused on the rest of our lives and what this company will do for the residents and the industry,” Petterson said.
